Cheerleading - Warriors Place 3rd at Grand View Invitational
The Waldorf cheerleading team competed in their first competition of the year at the Grand View Invitational and Viking Classic over the weekend and placed 3rd.
The Warriors scored very well in backet tosses with two back tuck baskets and one front flip basket. The judges loved the dance choreography and energy from the team.
Marriah Dunning (JR/Forest City, IA) executed all of her tumbling skills which included two standing back tucks, two toe back handsprings, and two running passes along with around off back tuck. Lexi Porter (SO/Anoka, MN) threw her jump back handspring for the first time.
"I was incredibly proud of the team's performances on Sunday. We have made huge strides from our inaugural competition year last year and I am confident that we will continue to have a successful season," Head Coach Michelle Provenzano stated. "There are so many athletes to point out for individual success on the mat, but the team has a whole did phenomenal. We are taking away a lot of good feedback from the judges to make some adjustments with to prepare for our dual against Dickinson State next Monday."
The Warriors will have their next competition on Monday, Feb. 6th against Dickinson State.
