Warriors find their Groove in Mustang Distance Carnival and Open
Cedar Rapids, IA- Waldorf University's Track and Field distance team traveled to Mount Mercy's Mustang Distance Carnival and Open. They showcased several impressive performances including two new all time records on the women's side and five season bests overall.
On the women's side are two stand out performances. First, Eliza McKown's new school record for the outdoor track and field 800m raising the bar to 2:18.10, beating out her previous set record at the finish line. Next is Marissa O'Connor's 3000m steeplechase hurdling the 13 minute barrier and setting the new school record at 12:48.28 all while setting a personal record of over 27 seconds. O'Connor then doubled back, jumping herself to 4th all time performance in the 800m race. Several other women have broken their season bests including Danielle Wood in the 5000m and 1500m, and Gemma Jasso in the 1500m.
On the men's side, Isaiah Cote had yet another personal record in the 1500m run. He has secured a 9th place spot in the 1500m all time record book while setting an 8 second personal record with a time of 4:25.80. Cote has also shaved an impressive 15 seconds off his debut college outdoor 1500m this year with plenty of speed to carry him down the home stretch of the season.
