Warrior Women Make Strides at Kip Janvrin open

Indianola, Iowa – The Waldorf University Warriors women's track and field team showcased their strength, speed, and determination at the Kip Janvrin Open hosted by Simpson College, turning in a weekend filled with standout performances, personal bests, and a new school record.

Leading the charge for the Warriors was Eliza McKown, who shattered the school record in the 800-meter run with an impressive time of 2:16.28, further solidifying her spot among the program's elite.

 

In addition to McKown's historic run, the Warriors posted six personal records across multiple events:

• Brandi Peck sprinted to a new best of 28.41 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

• Eve Seedorff hurled a personal-best 34.52 meters in the hammer throw.

• Alexis Torres clocked a 13.35 in the 100-meter dash.

• Danielle Wood recorded a time of 19:54.84 in the grueling 5,000-meter run.

 

Adding to the team's list of top performances, Marissa O'Connor etched her name into the record books with the third-best 400-meter hurdles time in school history, finishing in 1:12.73.

 

With the momentum building, the Warriors now set their sights on the GPAC Championships, scheduled for May 2nd and 3rd at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska. As the postseason looms, the team is poised to continue breaking barriers and rewriting the record books.
