Waldorf Esports Spring Season Kick-Off
Smash Ultimate- Jan 27th vs Nelson University 0-2 Loss
Waldorf SSBU played against Nelson University last Monday in its first match of the spring season. Nelson University took the lead to start against our Warriors and never took their feet off the gas. After a devastating loss of game 1, Waldorf took a breath and got locked in for game 2. With a commanding start we showed that we would not go down without a fight. Ready to take the match to game 3, our Warriors put everything they had into the matches, but unfortunately did not come out on top. Losing 2-0 Waldorf SSBU will shake it off, and be ready for the GPAC Esports Championship in Smash Ultimate.
Overwatch 2 - Jan 30th vs Edgewood College 3-0 win
Waldorf OW2 started off their spring season against Edgewood College. Waldorf OW2 was ready for the challenge that Edgewood would bring and won map 1 with a strong lead. Edgewood had map pick game 2, and put up a strong fight. Our Warriors were ready and defended a close map 2. Seeing Edgewood adapt and bring map 2 much closer, Waldorf knew map 3 would be a battle. Map 3 was back and forth the entire time with it being either team's game. Waldorf OW2 managed to close out the victory and win the first game of the season 3-0. They get ready for next week against John Jay College of Criminal Justice on Feb 6th.
Call of Duty- Feb 2nd vs Army West Point 0-3 Loss
Waldorf COD got its debut this weekend vs Army West Point. The newest edition to the esports program put up a good fight but ultimately lost 3-0 to Army West Point. Coming out strong and energized, our Warriors took control. Even with our teamwork and coordination in check, we just could not secure the first map and were ready to rally map 2. For map 2 we knew we needed to be ready to stop the momentum from Army West Point. Fighting tooth and nail with good rotations and communication still wasn't enough to stop them. Being down 0-2 going into the potential final map, our Warriors knew they needed to change up their plan. Army West Point took map 3 as well, officially beating Waldorf 3-0. It was a tough loss, but our Warriors are already working hard for next week against Indiana University East on Feb 7th.
