Waldorf Esports Weekly Recap: Strong Wins Highlight Warriors’ Momentum
FOREST CITY, Iowa - The Waldorf University Esports teams continued their fall season with an impressive string of performances this past week, earning key victories across multiple titles.
On October 17, the Overwatch squad set the tone with a dominant 3-0 sweep over Missouri State, showcasing sharp coordination and confident play.
The Rocket League team kept the momentum rolling on October 20, shutting out Illinois College 4-0 in a commanding series. The Warriors carried that energy into October 22, where they once again delivered a flawless 4-0 victory over St. Ambrose, marking two sweeps in just three days.
In Super Smash Bros. action on October 21, the Warriors faced off against the University of North Dakota, ultimately falling 0-2 in a competitive match that tested their adaptability and resilience.
Reflecting on the team's recent success, Coach Caden Swaney shared, "Hard work doesn't pay off overnight, but it always pays off over time." That mindset continues to drive the Warriors as they prepare for the second half of their fall schedule.
Looking ahead, the Overwatch team returns to competition on October 24 against the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire at 7 p.m.
On October 28, fans can look forward to a double feature as Super Smash Bros. takes on the University of Nebraska–Omaha at 7:30 p.m., followed by Marvel Rivals facing the University of Montana at 8:30 p.m.
Rounding out the month, the Rocket League squad hits the field again on October 29 to challenge the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point at 7 p.m.
The Warriors are riding strong momentum into the final stretch of October and will look to continue building on their recent success across all titles.
