Waldorf Women's XC run at Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic
ASHLAND, NE- The Waldorf Women's XC team ran at Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic held in Ashland, Nebraska for their last meet before conference championships.
This meet was able to highlight outstanding performances from a couple of Waldorf athletes on this 6k run. Eliza McKown finished first for Waldorf with a time of 23:55.1 making it a lifetime PR for her and fastest time on this course in school history. She had a 35 second improvement and is 2nd all time in all courses. Quincy Griffis came in next with a time of 25:15.1 establishing a course PR and lifetime PR improving with a 1 min and 9 seconds making her the second fastest athlete on this course in school history and 5th all time in all courses. Marissa O'Connor had the second fastest time on this course and still holds third fastest time on this course and 4th fastest all time in all courses with a time of 25:37.7. Brandi Peck had a 2 minute and 43 second improvement with a time of 25:25.6 and had a lifetime PR with a 40 second improvement. She is the fourth fastest athlete on this course and 6th fastest all time in all courses.
"I am so pleased with how this weekend went. We had some really good breakout times, Eliza had a great showing for her first 6k of the season and Quincy really surprised us and stepped up in a big way. Brandi and Marissa both ran really smart races and had a good day. I am excited what they will do at conference," said Coach Janna Langrell.
The Waldorf Warriors are set to run at the GPAC Conference Championships on Saturday, November 8th.
