Men’s Golf places fourth at DMACC Spring Invitational
BOONE, Iowa – Waldorf's men's golf team faced a small field in the DMACC Spring Invitational on Monday, turning in a score of 309 (+21) to finish in fourth place out of five teams at Cedar Pointe Golf Course. Several inches of rain in the days leading up to the tournament created wet conditions, prompting preferred lies to be in effect for the event.
The rest of the field consisted of two teams from both Des Moines Area CC and Iowa Central CC playing one round on the par-72, 6,647-yard course. The DMACC Bears won the event on their home course with a 286 (-2).
DMACC's Luke Linde collected the individual win with a four-under 68.
WU's Cayden Bray made three birdies as he posted his best round as a Warrior with a two-over 74, finishing in sole possession of eighth place and just three shots out of second.
Jacob Wiersma birdied two of his first four holes en route to a five-over-par showing of 77.
One spot behind him in 14th place was Christian Prambs who recorded a 78 (+6).
Junior Luke Fenner's 80 (+8) was the final counting score for the Waldorf contingent.
The Waldorf men have a day off before traveling to Oskaloosa, Iowa for the William Penn Spring Statesmen Shootout, another one-day event, on April 8.
