Baker earns weekly NSAA honor
BISMARCK, N.D. - The first NSAA Track and Field Athletes of the Week of the season were announced today and Waldorf's Wade Baker earned the Men's Field Athlete of the Week honor after school-record showings.
Baker produced the NAIA 'A' automatic qualifying mark in the shot put in the Central College Dutch Invitational last Thursday. He threw 16.54 meters (54 feet, 3.25 inches) to finish second in event, marking him fourth best toss in the NAIA after last weekend. Baker also placed fifth in the hammer throw with 52.50 meters toss (172 feet, 3 inches). His hammer throw toss ranks 13th in the nation. Baker produced school records in both events.
Waldorf is next scheduled to compete at the University of South Dakota Early Bird meet Friday and Saturday.
