Baker, Olivo-Cabrera compete at NAIA Nationals
MARION, Ind. - Senior thrower Wade Baker and senior hurdler Jorge Olivo-Cabrera represented Waldorf at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 22-24 hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.
Baker competed in two events. The first was the hammer throw Wednesday. Unfortunately, Baker fouled on all of his attempts, failing to mark. Chris Wren of Concordia (Neb.) won the competition with a mark of 63.52 meters. Baker was back in competition Friday for the shot put. He landed a successful mark of 16.19 meters, good for 16th place overall. Deandre Leith of Columbia International had a distance of 18.09 meters to claim first place.
Olivo-Cabrera competed Thursday in the 110-meter hurdles. His time of 14.97 seconds was good for 27th place. Tajean Houston of Texas Wesleyan won the title with a time of 13.77.
