Men's track and field compete at two meets
DES MOINES and INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Waldorf men's track and field team took part in two meets last weekend: the Drake Relays and the Kip Janvrin Open.
Wade Baker was the only member to take part in the Drake Relays. Competing in a field of mainly NCAA Division I and II athletes, Baker finished ninth in the shot put. He had a distance of 16.30 meters.
The rest of the team took part in the Kip Janvrin Open hosted by Simpson College. Marcel Smith had a great effort in the high jump. His height of 1.95 meters set a personal record (PR) and placed him second all-time in Waldorf history. Brunelson Dominique set a PR in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.53. He also ran a 57.54 in the 400 meters. Robert Beal set a PR in the 400-meter dash with a time 53.22.

Andrew Huber - 1500 meters - 4:38.94
Marquis Simpson - Long Jump - 5.82 meters
4x100 meter relay (Beal, Olivo Cabrera, Birri, Horton) - 43.99 - 4th place
Smith and Olivo Cabrera will be competing at the Maverick Open #1 in Mankato, Minnesota on Wednesday.
