Indoor Track Travels Small Group to Luther College

Decorah, Iowa

The Waldorf men's and women's track amd field teams traveled to Luther College over the weekend. The teams collected 16 new personal bests, 9 new top 10 marks in program history, and 3 event champions.

The women's team saw Madison Mulhall set a new personal record in the 60 meter hurdles (9.68) and the 300 meter dash (46.90), which are good enough to be the second and fourth best marks in Waldorf history in those respective events. Mulhall also brought home first place in the high jump, as she cleared 1.43 meters. Alexa Torres 46.17 300 meter dash now puts her second all time as well. Kiara Thomas is now 3rd all  time in the shot put (10.96), while Cora Maeder's 12.34 meter weight throw is now 4th. 

For the men's team, Cole Armstrong and Avant Jackson both won an event for the Warriors--Armstrong in the 400 meter (52.92) and Jackson in the triple jump (12.46). Tristian Chaplan (Shot put, 4th), Avant Jackson (triple Jump, 5th), Christian Hernandez (600m, 9th) and Penisimani Manuotalaha (weight throw, 10th) all found their ways into the top 10 record books as well.

Coach Paulsen said "I was proud with how the athletes competed this weekend at Luther. It was a smaller group, but I feel like we made our presence known and set ourselves up well for the upcoming meets.
