Cooper Named as NSAA Offensive Player of the Week
BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) announced its third edition of the 2023 Football Players of the Week honors on Monday. After a standout performance on Saturday, quarterback Jordan Cooper was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week.
"Our coaches put us in great situations that created the outcome we had," Cooper stated. "We haven't put a whole game together yet, but we're excited for our opportunity against Mayville this week!"
Cooper (SR/New Caney, TX) led the Warriors to a 35-20 victory on Saturday over the Dakota State Trojans. He went 21-27 for a total of 325 passing yards with two touchdowns. Cooper also rushed seven times for 16 yards with two touchdowns of his own. He threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Jorge Rivera and a 45-yard touchdown pass to Dom Watt in the second quarter.
"I am extremely proud and excited for Jordan. He has continued to work hard day in and day out," said Interim Head Coach Tyler Chapa. "Not only has he been a great player but continues to grow as a leader for us daily. We are excited to continue this journey with him."
This marks the second player of the week honor for the Waldorf football team. Connor Parker received special teams player of the week in week two.
The Warriors travel to Mayville State for a conference match on Saturday, September 16th at 2 pm.
