Women's golf performs well at home meets
ALBERT LEA, Minn. / LAKE MILLS, Iowa - The Waldorf women's golf team hosted a pair of meets Sunday and Monday placing first place as a team Sunday and second place Monday.
Sunday in Albert Lea, the Warriors topped the nine-team field at the Waldorf Invitational. Pacing the team was Amanda Karvala who tied for second place with a 4-over par 76. The team bested second place Buena Vista by seven strokes. Isabella Heintzelman tied for fourth place with a round of 7-over par 79. Ashley Groesbeck had a top 10 showing of 11-over par.
Monday in Lake Mills, Waldorf finished just three strokes behind Simpson for the team crown. Again, pacing the Warriors was Karvala who had another second place showing with a 3-over par round of 74. She finished just one stroke off the lead. Heintzelman tied for sixth place at 13-over par. Groesbeck tied for 12th at 15-over par.
Waldorf finishes the fall portion of their schedule Friday at the Red Tail Invitational in Dike, Iowa.
