Waldorf Women’s Golf Places Third at NIACC Spring Invite
MASON CITY, Iowa. - The Waldorf University women's golf team showed strong individual performances and solid teamwork at the NIACC Spring Invite, held Friday at the Legacy Golf Course at the 19. Competing against a small but competitive field of four teams, the Warriors secured a third-place finish overall.
Leading the charge for the Warriors were Isabella Heintzelman and Ashley Groesbeck, both carding impressive rounds of 84. Their consistent play on the course earned them a tie for fourth place individually in the tournament. Just behind them was Maddie Carver, who finished with a score of 85, narrowly missing a top-five individual spot. Her round added valuable depth to the Warriors' team performance.
Also contributing to Waldorf's team total were Shelby Effle (103), Ariana Gutierrez (104), and Morgan Benson (108), each navigating the course and adding to the team's depth. Despite facing challenging course conditions, the team displayed resilience and determination.
The NIACC Invite served as an important tune-up for the Warriors. The team's ability to place three golfers near the top of the leaderboard is a promising sign as they continue to build momentum.
Waldorf will look to build on this performance as they prepare for the GPAC Championship on April 28- 29th in Cairo, NE.
