Waldorf Drops Two on Senior Day
FOREST CITY, IA - This past Saturday, Waldorf played their last games of the season against the Dordt Defenders. We were able to celebrate our four graduating seniors, Timber Oakes, Kierra Lynn Schulz, Alyssa Maldonado, and Paige Pierson. The Warriors dropped both games to Dordt with scores of 9-0 and 8-0.
Game One:
Dordt got things going, scoring one run in the first, two in the second, five in the fourth, and two more to seal the deal in the fifth inning.
Waldorf only had two hits on the day for game one, both coming from Junior Gabby Bierly. She had a leadoff double to left center field in the bottom of the second, and a two strike single through the left side in the bottom of the fourth.
Junior Geneva Molina would take the loss throwing 3.1 innings, giving up 4 earned runs and 2 Ks.
Game Two:
Game two would start fairly similar to game one. Dordt scored five runs in their half of the second, and three more in the top of the fifth.
Waldorf would end the game with three hits, each coming from a playing senior. Timber Oakes singled through the left side in the bottom of the first. Paige Pierson singled to right field in the bottom of the fourth. Lastly, Kierra Lynn Schulz would double over the left fielder's head in the bottom of the fifth.
Reagan Ridout was the starting pitcher for the Warriors and would take the loss. She threw 1.2 innings giving up 5 earned runs and 2 Ks.
