Warriors Break Through for First Win of 2025-26 Season

The Waldorf Warriors Women's Basketball team broke through for their first win of the season against the St. Ambrose Queen Bees on Wednesday night.
After the Bees jumped out to an early 9-0 lead, the Warriors battled back to claim a slim 26-24 lead heading into halftime. The Warriors turned it on in the 3rd quarter, winning it 26 to 6 and holding St. Ambrose to just 18% shooting in the period. The Warriors would extend the lead by more in the fourth as they cruised to a 67-39 win.
The Warriors defense was the star of the show, holding the Bees to 23.9% Field Goal shooting for the game, and allowing only two made 3s on 26 attempts (7.7% 3pt). The 39 total points by St. Ambrose is the fewest points scored by a Waldorf opponent since November 12th, 2021 when the Warriors held Mount Mary University to 38 points.
Cloey Dmytruk led the game in scoring with 24 points, while also grabbing 11 rebounds for a double double performance. Charlotte Mills also recorded a double double, with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 assists. Alba Garrido-Lamas added 15 points off the bench with three made 3s.
The Warriors will return to action on Saturday, December 6th when they face Midland in Fremont, Nebraska.
