Waldorf Volleyball Falls to Morningside in Road Match
SIOUX CITY, Iowa - On September 13, 2025, the Waldorf University Warriors hit the road to face the Morningside University Mustangs in a conference matchup. Despite a determined effort, the Warriors were swept in straight sets, falling 3-0.
Morningside came out strong in the opening set, securing a 25-18 win. Waldorf responded with resilience in the second set, but the Mustangs maintained control, taking it 25-19. The third set was the most competitive of the match, with the Warriors narrowing the margin, but ultimately coming up short, 25-22.
Offensively, Peyton Klooster led Waldorf with 7 kills and an impressive hitting efficiency of .500. Anna Longhenry and Emily Goodner also made key contributions, tallying 6 kills each. Defensively, Emily Soukup recorded a solo block, while Klooster added 4 total blocks to bolster the defense. McKenna Marlow anchored the back row with 17 digs, playing a crucial role in the Warriors' defensive effort.
From the service line, Ashley Kurschner and Kaylin Koch each delivered an ace. In setting duties, Reinya Balderson led the team with 14 assists, followed by McKenna Metzger with 9.
The Warriors, now 8-3 on the season, will look to regroup and refocus as they prepare for their next match on September 17, 2025. They'll host Briar Cliff University at home in Forest City, Iowa, with JV action beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the Varsity match at approximately 7:30 p.m.
