Waldorf Volleyball Secures Victory Against College of Saint Mary
FOREST CITY, Iowa - In an electrifying volleyball match held on October 18, 2025, the Waldorf University Warriors demonstrated tenacity and skill in a thrilling 3-1 set victory over the College of Saint Mary Flames at Hanson Fieldhouse.
The match opened strongly for the Warriors, as it captured the first set with a comfortable score of 25-18. However, the Flames fought back in the second set, edging out the Warriors 25-22. Undeterred, Waldorf rebounded in the third set, narrowly securing a win with a score of 25-23 before clinching the match in a nail-biting fourth set 28-26.
Key players from Waldorf stood out with remarkable performances. Emily Soukup led all players with 13 kills, hitting .308, alongside 9 blocks, making a substantial impact on both offense and defense. Anna Longhenry contributed with 12 kills of her own, while Emily Goodner added 11 kills and 4 blocks. On the defensive side, McKenna Marlow tallied 19 digs. The serving was also strong with Reinya Balderson, Maya Augustine, and others delivering crucial aces, tallying a team total of 9 aces.
Post-match celebrations included Senior night festivities, where Anna Longhenry and Kaci Johnson were honored for their dedication and impactful contributions through their tenure with the volleyball program at Waldorf.
The Warriors look forward to building on this win in their next game against Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, hosted once again in Forest City, Iowa. JV is set to begin at 6 p.m. and Varsity will follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.
