DICKINSON, N.D. – The Waldorf baseball team was eliminated from the NSAA conference tournament from a thrilling 15-inning battle against Mayville State. The Warriors lost 2-3.
Ryan Webster (SO/Las Vegas, NV) scored in the 2nd inning off a sacrifice fly out RBI by Matthew Ferreira (SR/Spring Creek, NV).
In the top of the 4th inning, Atticus Smith (SO/Kent, WA) scored on a Comet error.
The Comets tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the 7th inning.
The Warriors defense made a double play to end the 9th inning preventing the Comets from scoring.
In the bottom of the 15th inning, the Comets scored to win the game on a dropped third strike wild pitch.
Zach Meyer (JR/Gilbert, AZ) pitched the first eight innings with five strikeouts and two walks.
The Warriors end their season with an overall record of 22-26 and 16-12 in conference.
