Waldorf Finishes First Home Game of the Season with a Win

FOREST CITY, Iowa - Waldorf Baseball hosted the Viterbo University V-Hawks for their first home game of the season on Tuesday.
Waldorf would start off strong with six unanswered runs in the first four innings. Rylee Rauch, Atticus Smith, Cameron Rindone, and Seth Mifflin scored in the first inning, A. Smith scored in the third inning, and Rindone homered in the fourth, giving Waldorf a 6-0 lead. Viterbo scored two runs at the top of the sixth to cut down Waldorf's lead to 4. Waldorf would put up four more runs at the bottom of the sixth with runs by Rauch, Mason Smith, Rindone, and Drake Fetters, taking a commanding 10-2 lead over Viterbo. Viterbo scored two runs at the top of the seventh and five more runs at the top of the ninth, holding Waldorf scoreless along the way and cutting the lead down 10-9. Waldorf would make a late pitching substitute, Kade Hobbs, who secured the final three outs of the game for a 10-9 win.
Rindone would lead the way for the Warriors, hitting a home run and a double with two RBIs. Jack Kamalski had double and an RBI. Tyler Wytulka had two RBIs. A. Smith, Mifflin, and Battye had one RBI each.
Waldorf hosts conference opponent the Dakota Wesleyan University Tigers in a double header at 12pm and 2:30pm on Thursday, March 27 in Forest City, Iowa.
