D1 Hockey Drops to Jimmies on the Road
JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The Waldorf D1 hockey team traveled for a weekend series against the University of Jamestown Jimmies. The Warriors lost 7-0.
The Jimmies started off strong by scoring their first goal in the first period.
"We played Warrior hockey in the first and we had great results," Head Coach Mike Heitkamp stated. "We played very selfish hockey in the second period, and it cost us."
Jamestown added three goals in the second period and three more in the third. One of the goals in the third was on a Waldorf power-play.
Goalkeeper Jordan Berschiminsky (JR/Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) finished the game with 52 saves.
Heitkamp added, "Jordan Berschiminsky played great in net for us. Without his effort tonight, it could've easily been into double digits. We will need to get back and play Warrior hockey tomorrow."
The Warriors return to play tomorrow, September 30th against the Jimmies at 3 pm.
