D1 Hockey Falls in Overtime to Jacks
BOTTINEAU, N.D. – The Waldorf D1 hockey team returned to action after a month long break with a weekend series hosted by the Dakota College at Bottineau Jacks. The Warriors were defeated in an overtime loss, 3-2.
1st Period: The Jacks were first to score within the first five minutes of the game. Jake Lindblom (SR/Pine City, MN) tied the game with an assist from Robby Arver (FR/Spokane, WA).
2nd Period: The second period remained in a tied game at 1-1. The Jacks had one penalty in the second and the Warriors did not have any.
3rd Period: Geoffrey Dick (JR/Prespatou, BC) scored the go-ahead goal to start the third period, assisted by Austin Mood-Flagg (SR/Slave Lake, Alberta). The Jacks tied the game to force overtime.
Overtime: The Jacks scored the game-winning goal within the first minute of overtime on a Warrior power-play.
The Warriors are back tomorrow, January 7th for a second game against the Jacks. Puck drop is at 1 pm.
