Waldorf Finishes Weekend Series with Midland
ALBERT LEA, Minn. - The Waldorf Warriors lost a penalty filled game by shootout to the Midland Warriors on Sunday afternoon. Waldorf scored first when freshman Matus Jonas shot the puck through traffic, finding the back of the net. Jacob Patterson and Donovan Ascencio added assists. The two teams exchanged second period goals. Geoff Dick redirected a shot by Dominic Toews with Liam Wallace adding a secondary assist on the goal. Waldorf and Midland headed into overtime with a 2-2 score. They played out the overtime with neither team scoring, leading to a shootout where Midland was able to score 2-3 while Waldorf was 0-3. Andrew Tworkowski made 49 out of 51 saves in another strong performance in net. The Waldorf Warriors continue their home stand next weekend, hosting Northern Illinois on Friday at 7pm and Saturday at 2pm and hosting Mckendree on Sunday at 2pm.
