Waldorf D1 Hockey Hosts Midland for Home Series
ALBERT LEA, MN – The Waldorf D1 hockey team returned to their home ice for a weekend series against the Midland Warriors on Friday evening. The Warriors were defeated 5-2.
1st Period: Midland took an early lead by scoring within the first minute of the game. Their next goal came at the 8th minute that was scored short-handed.
2nd Period: Midland was first score in the 2nd period that was on a power-play against Waldorf. Liam Wallace (FR/Reed Deer, AB) found the back of the net, assisted by Chayse Haberman (SR/Minot, ND). Midland responded by scoring another goal halfway through the period. Luke Nemeth (FR/Ames, IA) scored an unassisted goal at the 11th minute mark.
3rd Period: Midland scored their final goal to win 5-2. Waldorf had 11 shots on goal and held Midland to nine.
Gage Reimer (FR/Medicine Hat, AB) was in the net for Waldorf and finished with 29 saves.
The Warriors are back tomorrow, December 2nd, for the second game against Midland. Puck drop is at 2 pm.
