D1 Hockey Beats Ranked #18 Midland University
FREMONT, NE- On September 12th, the two teams skated to a scoreless first period. Midland jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the 2nd period. Zak Molstad tied the game with an extra effort short handed goal.
At the 8:16 mark of the 2nd, Molstad gave Waldorf the lead with his 2nd of the night, Gunnar Vignaroli and Audun Caple added the assists. At the 16:42 mark, Waldorf scored another power play goal when Dominic Toews deflected a shot from Matus Jonas, Caple also assisted on the goal. Dylan Carlson closed the deal late in the 3rd with his first collegiate goal finishing the game 4-2.
The two teams finish the weekend series Saturday at 4pm.
