A Battle of the Warriors Results in Loss for Waldorf
ALBERT LEA, Minn. - Waldorf Men's Hockey team lost a close battle with the Midland University Warriors Saturday evening, finishing with a score of 3-2. Matt Loney gave the Waldorf Warriors a chance to win, turning aside 35 of 38 shots. Waldorf was not able to capitalize on a 5-minute major power play in the first period. Waldorf gave up a first period goal, but Luke Nemeth would tie it up with a nice drive to the Midland net. Art Laurynavichus and Gunner Vignaroli added assists. Midland took a 3-1 lead into the third period. Waldorf cut the lead to 3-2 on a goal by Audun Caple with assists from Jaden Aguilera and Zak Molstad. Waldorf had opportunities late in the game, but some untimely penalties hindered a comeback. The two teams complete the weekend series on Sunday.
