D1 Men's Hockey Beats Iowa State University

MASON CITY, IA- The Warriors finally were able to get on the board with a goal from Dominic Toews assisted by Jayden Aguilera. Forty seconds later Audun Caple made it 2-0 with an assist from Peyton Inks. The Warriors would take a 3-0 lead on a nice shot from team captain Liam Wallace. Both Jayden Aguilera and Arturas Laurynavichus added assists. The third period would see the teams battle back and fourth until late in the third when Iowa State scored to make it 3-1.

The Warriors got into penalty trouble late in the third where they were able to keep Iowa State from scoring even though they would play short handed 6 on 3 as Iowa State pulled the goalie for the extra attacker. The Mason City arena was rocking the entire night and the Warriors delivered on the 3-1 victory.

The two teams will complete the weekend series tomorrow night in Ames at 7pm.
