Waldorf D1 Hockey Falls to No. 1 Minot State
MINOT, N.D. – The Waldorf D1 hockey team returned to the ice for a non-conference game against the (No.1) Minot State University Beavers on Friday evening. The Warriors lost 9-1.
The Beavers got off to a strong start by scoring three straight goals in the first period, one being on a power-play against the Warriors.
In the second period, the Beavers continued to prove why they are ranked 1st in the nation by adding four more goals.
Robby Arver (FR/Spokane, WA) found the back of the net for the Warriors, assisted by Brandon McDonald (FR/Winnipeg, MB) and Jake Lindblom (SR/Pine City, MN), in the 19th minute of the period.
The Beavers closed the game in the third period with two more goals to win 9-1.
Waldorf goalkeepers Jordan Berschiminsky (JR/Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) and Gage Reimer (FR/Medicine Hat, AB) split time in the net and finished with 22 and 24 saves respectfully.
The Warriors are back tomorrow, October 14th for a second game against the Beavers. Puck drop is at 7:30 pm.
