Waldorf D1 Hockey Gain the Victory Against McKendree
LEBANON, IL- The Warriors started strong in the first period with two goals. The first goal was a nice tic tac toe play between Zak Molstad and Jaden Aguilera where Audun Caple buried it for the first goal of the night. The Warriors would strike again when Gunnar Vignaroli made a nice individual play beating the McKendree defense wide and the burying with a nice low shot. Peyton Inks had the assist on that goal.
McKendree pulled within one early in the second on a defensive breakdown. However, Molstad was able to push the Warriors up 3-1 with a nice goal driving the net after picking up a loose puck at neutral ice. The Warriors entered the third period with a 3-1 lead. McKendree would score early in the third. However, Warriors goalie Vaughn Holbeche would shut the door on any McKendree come back. Vaughn Holbeche would secure the win by making 54 saves on 56 shots.
The two teams finish the weekend series at 4pm today.
