Warriors Drop to Jacks 3-2
ALBERT LEA, MN – The Waldorf D1 Hockey team hosted the Dakota College at Bottineau Jacks for a weekend series. In the first game, the Warriors suffered a 3-2 defeat on Friday evening.
The Jacks were first score in the 1st period. The Warriors had 8 on shots on goal.
Brett Janssens (JR/Carberry, MB) tied the game in the 2nd period, assisted by Devin Carney (FR/Wasilla, AK). The Jacks got the go-ahead goal. The Warriors held the Jacks to six shots on goal.
In the 3rd period, the Jacks scored the game winning goal on a power-play against the Warriors. Within the last minute of the period, Chayse Haberman (SR/Minot, ND) scored, assisted by Luke Nemeth (FR/Ames, IA) and Jake Lindblom (SR/Pine City, MN), on a power-play against the Jacks.
Waldorf goalie Vaughn Holbeche (FR/Lloydminister, AB) finished the game with 21 saves.
The Warriors return tomorrow, November 4th for the second game against the Jacks. Puck drop is at 2 pm.
