Waldorf D1 Hockey Completes Weekend Sweep of Iowa State with 7–1 Victory
MASON CITY, Iowa - The Warriors completed their weekend sweep of Iowa State with a 7-1 win on Saturday night. The Warriors' goaltender, Matt Loney, recorded his first career win with a 27 for 28 save performance. After a scoreless first period, the Warriors were able to capitalize on 4 power-play goals in the second period. Art Laurynavichus started the scoring off a pass from Matus Jonas, and Jaden Aguilera also added an assist. Zak Molstad would add the next two goals, with assists going to Laurynavichus, Jonas, Aguilera, and Caple. Jaden Aguilera scored a goal with 2 seconds left in the second on a nice shot from the off wing. Laurynavichus and Jonas provided the assists. The Warriors would add three in the third when Peyton Inks scored on the power play with assists to Geoff Dick and Liam Wallace. Luke Nemeth would then add 2 goals to wrap up the scoring, with assists going to Jacob Patterson and Cale Anderson (2). The Warriors will take to the road next weekend for a two-game series against Colorado State.
