No. 15 Mary Shuts out Waldorf Hockey
FOREST CITY, Iowa – The Warriors came up in a close match Friday night. No. 15 University of Mary scored a pair of goals in the first period and held host Waldorf University off the scoreboard in a 3-0 men's hockey final.
The visiting Marauders (14-5) slapped home what would be the game winner 9:06 into the match. Mary added a second tally three seconds before the end of the first period. The Waldorf (4-11) defense stiffened and held Mary without a goal over the final 31:19 of the match.
The Warriors put four shots on goal in each of the three periods. The Marauders fired 33 shots for their effort.
Waldorf goalie Matthew Loney stopped 30 of the 33 shots in the net.
