D2 Hockey Competes with University of Minnesota-Duluth
DULUTH, Minn. - The Waldorf Men's D2 Hockey team faced the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs on September 27 to finish off the weekend series.
During the first period, the Warriors trailed slightly with a score of 2-1. This early push featured a notable first collegiate goal by Paul Cole. The pace intensified in the second period, where the Waldorf Warriors managed to net two additional goals by Treyson White and Tony Romani, taking the score to a close 4-3.
Entering the third period, Martin Tupper contributed his first collegiate goal, maintaining the possibility of a comeback for the Warriors. However, the Bulldogs managed to secure a final score of 6-4, winning the series. The Warriors received strong support from their teammates, including assists throughout the game from Connor Edlund, Stephen Mosgopoulos, and Zack Lloyd, and key saves by goalie Treyson Boesch.
Looking ahead, Waldorf's Warriors will next face Lake Region State College on October 3.
