Waldorf's D2 Hockey Team Faces Off Against Lake Region State College Royals
DEVILS LAKE, N.D. - In a competitive weekend series, the Waldorf Warriors faced the Lake Region State College Royals on October 3. The series opener concluded with a final score of 5-3 in favor of the Royals.
The first period of the game set a good tone, with the Warriors showing strong offensive plays. Zack Lloyd netted an early goal for Waldorf University, assisted by Jacob Sundgren making it 3-1 in the first period. In the second period, Vincent Hunt and Treyson White made the score 5-3 with assists coming from Ethan Maisonneuve and Martin Tupper. Despite these efforts, the Royals maintained their lead and secured the period with the same score. Waldorf's goaltender Carter Herheim had a total of 48 shots on goal, only conceding 5 goals with a total of 43 saves before switching. Zane Redfern subbed in after to finish the match with 31 saves.
The Warriors are scheduled to confront the Royals once again on October 4 in Devils Lake, North Dakota to finish off this weekend series.
