Waldorf University D2 Hockey Narrowly Defeated by MSOE in Tense Battle
ALBERT LEA, Minn. - In a tightly contested hockey game on October 25, 2025, the Waldorf University Warriors faced off against the MSOE club at their home facility. Despite a strong start, the Warriors ultimately fell with a final score of 2-1 in favor of MSOE.
The first period saw Waldorf taking an early lead, with Connor Edlund scoring the first goal, putting the Warriors in front 1-0. The Warriors maintained this lead through the end of the first period into the second, with no additional goals from either side. Throughout these periods, Waldorf's goalie, Zane Redfern, displayed remarkable skill, successfully blocking numerous attempts by MSOE.
As the game advanced into the final period, the dynamics shifted significantly. MSOE intensified their offense, leading to Wahlstrom equalizing the score early in the third period. The match's decisive moment came shortly after, as Rieder managed to slip another puck past Redfern, tipping the scale in favor of MSOE, 2-1.
